Improving Effectiveness and Impact in the Design, Development and Implementation of Peacebuilding Projects and Programmes

A unique three-day Executive Leadership Programme designed to help improve the quality, impact and effectiveness of programmes and operations run by those working in:

  • crisis management
  • violence prevention
  • mediation and conflict resolution
  • peacemaking and peace processes during armed conflict
  • human rights
  • peacebuilding and development
  • confidence and security building measures
  • post-war recovery and reconciliation
  • DDR
  • democratisation and transition

Facilitated by Kai Brand-Jacobsen, an expert practitioner from the world-renowned Peace Action, Training and Research Institute of Romania (PATRIR), the programme is designed to help participants identify ways to strengthen and improve how they work.  

It is relevant to experienced practitioners from inter-governmental organisations working in the field and at head offices, and staff of international and national NGOs.

Knowledge and skills intensive, the programme combines expert training, the sharing between practitioners of experiences and lessons learned, and space for facilitated talks and process development. Skills covered include:

  • Understand how to develop and apply effective M&E systems
  • Develop appropriate indicators for missions and programmes

  • Develop dynamic learning systems to improve quality and impact of missions and field operations
